"Боевой гимн Республики"Патриотическая песня-марш, служившая неофициальным гимном для северян в период Гражданской войны [ Civil War]. Написана в 1861 Дж. Хау [ Howe, Julia Ward] на мотив песни "Тело Джона Брауна" [ John Brown's Body]. Впервые опубликована в журнале "Атлантик мансли" [ Atlantic Monthly] в феврале 1862 и сразу же стала популярной. Позднее использовалась как протестантский гимн и песня протеста. Припев песни заканчивался известными словами "Слава! Слава! Аллилуя! Правда Его идет вперед!" = ["Glory! glory! Hallelujah!
